Report of the meeting Betwwen W3C Global Business Development leader and E-Publishing Industries in India

W3C India organized a meeting with Indian E-publishing stakeholders involving government, academia and industry having the objective to elucidate the e-publishing requirement in Indian Languages. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Swaran Lata Country Manager, W3C India.

W3C Meetings with Industry Experts

W3C India office (www.w3cindia.in/) is has organized a series of meetings with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) delegation with the Indian ICT Industry , academic institutes and the companies incubated in the Web related area. The goal of these meeting was to reach out to all the stakeholders of W3C standards [Areas: Web accessibility, Mobile Web, Web application development, Internationalization of Web, Web services technologies including the cloud based services, Speech technology, etc.] and enhance their involvement in the evolution of these standards.

W3C India office has to engage with these stakeholders for active dialogue for possible membership of W3C as affiliate members in their specific area of interest and also as institutional member for the organization to remain ahead in the ICT global competitive world. The innovation labs of Multinational and Indian companies also need to be brought on-board for meaningful participation to happen from India.

Three meetings has been organized as follows:

  • 1. March 30, 2011 [6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m] at IIIT Hyderabad.
  • 2. April 4 and 5th, 2011 [11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.] at Dept of Information Technology, 6 CGO Complex, New Delhi.
